Abstrak

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are a globally detrimental occupational health problem, characterized by complaints in the muscles, tendons and joints. Based on existing findings, unergonomic work posture is a major physical risk factor. Forced postures, repetitive movements, and static work duration lead to increased mechanical stress. To assess risk objectively, standardized measuring tools such as REBA, RULA, and OWAS are used. Effective interventions must be comprehensive, including work station modifications (engineering interventions) as well as implementing work rotations and short breaks (micro-breaks) as administrative interventions. Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are one of the most common occupational health problems in various industrial sectors. These complaints include disorders of the muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments caused by unergonomic working postures, repetitive movements and long duration of static work. This article presents the results of a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 20 studies that assessed the relationship between work posture and MSDs. The synthesis results show a very significant relationship between unergonomic posture and an increased prevalence of MSDs, where long work duration and heavy workload increase the risk. Ergonomic intervention was proven to be effective in significantly reducing posture risk scores and MSDs complaints.
