Abstract
Labor pain is a physiological condition experienced by mothers during childbirth, especially during the active phase of the first stage of labor caused by uterine contractions, cervical dilatation, and stretching of the lower uterine segment. One of the non-pharmacological methods that can be used to reduce labor pain is the rebozo technique. This study aimed to determine the effect of the rebozo technique on reducing labor pain intensity during the active phase of the first stage of labor at PMB Hendriwati Agam Regency. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The study was conducted from December 2025 to January 2026 involving 25 respondents selected using accidental sampling technique. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Paired T-Test. The results showed that the mean pain intensity before intervention was 8.12 with a standard deviation of 0.93, while after intervention the mean pain intensity decreased to 6.20 with a standard deviation of 1.29. Statistical analysis showed a t-value of 6.946 with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that the rebozo technique significantly reduced labor pain intensity during the active phase of the first stage of labor. In conclusion, the rebozo technique is effective as a non-pharmacological intervention to reduce labor pain intensity and improve maternal comfort during labor.
